Century Ride
For the past several years, quite a few FLCC members have car-pooled down to Rocky's Bicycle Shop near Monroeton, Pennsylvania for this remarkable ride. Some do the full century, others have full measure with the 50-miler, but everyone feels they earned the great spaghetti dinner that follows.

RIDE TIME: 9:00 AM
FEE: $25 Pre-registered by Sept 5 assures a T-shirt.
$30 registered after Sept 5 & on the day of the ride.
- There will be water and food stops at 25, 50 & 75 mile points
- Medical personnel will be available throughout the ride
- A spaghetti dinner after the ride for all cyclists & volunteers
- Live DJ, good music & a Masseuse to massage your tired muscles

Dear Riders, Sponsors and Friends of the Tour De Shunk:
The Tenth Annual Tour De Shunk Century Ride is scheduled for Sunday, Sept 14, 2008. This ride has grown every year and we don't expect this year to be any different. Last year we had 182 riders and raised $5300 for the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Attached to this e-mail, you will find a copy of the registration form, a ride information sheet, and the Tour Business Letter looking for sponsors. The ride has 25, 50 and 100 mile options through some of the most beautiful and challenging roads in the Endless Mountains region of northeastern Pennsylvania. Food and drink will be provided at the 25, 50 and 75 mile rest areas. Several members of the Towanda Memorial Hospital massage therapy group will be on hand after 2pm to provide massages to the riders. We will have a spaghetti dinner after the ride for all participants. All riders that pre-register before Sept 5 will receive a T-shirt, other riders will receive a T-shirt on a first come basis until supplies run out. Pre-registration is $20, registration on the day of the ride is $30.
This ride is made possible through the generosity of our volunteers and sponsors. Our goal every year has been to get enough sponsorship and volunteers so that every dollar from rider registration can be donated. If you would like to ride, volunteer or help sponsor this year's event, we encourage you to join us. If you've done so in the past, we want to thank you and ask that you help us again this year.
To help motivate the riders and sponsors, we are offering the following:
- If you are employed, take the tour business letter to your employer and ask them to donate $100 on your behalf. If they donate $100 or more (bronze level sponsor), we will put their company name on our T-shirt and waive your registration fee.
- If you send us $200 or more (silver level sponsor), we will put your logo on our T-shirt, limited to the first 6 to respond.
- If you send us $500 or more (gold level sponsor), we will put your logo on our shirt 2 times larger that the $200 logos, limited to the first 2 to respond.
- The first one to send $1000 or more will be the Signature Sponsor of the Tour De Shunk with their logo on the front of the shirt, bigger than all other logos, with their name in the title of the event.
- If you would like to sponsor in a different way - i.e.. sponsor a rest area, or the dinner or something else that you might come up with, please call me and we can discuss it.
